Added another pinball machine

I've added a fourth pinball machine to my collection.  This time around it's a Mr & Mrs Pac-man.  It's a bit cheesey and it is an older pin but I remember it from the good old days in the arcade.  At worse this is a machine I'll keep for a while and then sell off later on.  It's not in the mint condition but I am going to try and do my best to get it looking good.  It has some playfield wear and a lot of ball marks.  Remember folks if you have a pinball machine check that ball once in a while to make sure it's in good shape.  In a quick test using some polish on the playfield has helped the ball marks but I'm not expecting miracles it is a 28 year old machine after all.

The  good part is the playfield plastics are in really good shape.  As well as just about everything else.  Only two minor snags is a flipper that doesn't work and the key not working for the back box.  It looks like I get to drill my first lock.  Not looking forward to that so it can wait till I need to get in the back box.

The break down of the playfield has begun.  Once I get it cleared off I'll work on cleaning it up as best I can. It won't be pristine in the end unless I can find a NOS playfield but it's not worth it as this isn't an A pin anyway.

I'll keep the blog updated on my progress with this pin.  I have three others to go through after this so there is plenty of stuff to keep me busy and writing here.

Here's a few tips for breaking down a playfield.

  1. Take a lot of pictures every step of the way.
  2. Put the parts in sandwich bags labeled which part of the playfield they are from.
  3. Throw those old rubber pieces away and buy new ones.

Pretty much beginner stuff but #1 can't be stressed enough.  It is tough figuring where something goes even after you think you've taken enough pictures.
